R. J. Quick (“E”) is a resident of Jacksboro, Texas and owner of the Jacksboro Garden, Gift & Florist Center. He began his “Tribute to Elvis” performances in 2002 at the Center in an effort to attract tourism and business to the city.
His performances at the Center and his extraordinary vocal likeness to that of Elvis Presley brought raves from his audiences. Many stated they had never heard anyone who sounded so much like Elvis. There is now a demand outside of Jacksboro for his performances at gospel concerts, festivals, class reunions, banquets, clubs, restaurants, musical theatres, radio stations and private parties.
Performing in front of audiences where he can interact with the people is his preference. However, he has performed stage concerts from theatres to large conventions. After Katrina he worked with local Wal-Mart stores to raise money for Katrina victims.
R. J.’s main goal is to bring the personification of an entertainer, who literally changed the world’s conception of music, to those who never had the privilege of actually seeing Elvis. Second and third generation Elvis’ fans are now able to get just a small glimpse of the dynamics of the King.
There are many Elvis Tribute Artists around the world, but none of us have been able to duplicate all of Elvis’ attributes into just one person. The combination of appearance, voice, and charisma will never be duplicated. I consider it a privilege to share what little I can with so many that never had the opportunity to see Elvis.
R. J.’s song base includes all of Elvis’ songs from rock and roll, country, and gospel to rhythm and blues. He also performs, in Elvis’ style and voice, songs that were never sung by Elvis.
